Maxie Lafleur elected Chair of the Board of Directors of Zoo de Granby
Press Release
Granby, June 23 - The Société zoologique de Granby held the election of its new Board of Directors following its Annual General Meeting. A member of the Society’s Board since 2022, Maxie Lafleur was elected Chair of the Board, succeeding Simon Lapointe.

The Société zoologique de Granby would like to warmly thank Mr. Simon Lapointe for his dedication as Chair of the Board of Directors, as well as for the time and energy he devoted to helping the organization navigate the exceptional challenges it has faced over the past three years. Under his leadership, the organization successfully continued to advance its conservation initiatives, notably with the launch of Mission Faune in May 2024. Fortunately, his expertise will continue to benefit the institution, as he will remain involved as a member of the Board.
With her appointment, Maxie Lafleur, who has been a member of the Société zoologique de Granby’s Board of Directors since 2022, will leverage her expertise in corporate strategy and organizational growth. A graduate of Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford and the John Molson School of Business, her career has led her to live and work in Europe and Asia before settling in the Estrie region.
She currently advises organizations on growth, transformation, and artificial intelligence integration initiatives, and serves on several private advisory committees.
“Zoo de Granby is a unique institution whose mission in conservation, education, and biodiversity awareness has never been more essential. I intend to fully support accelerating the Zoo’s vision alongside CEO Émilie Laurin, the Board of Directors, and the passionate teams who showcase the organization every day,” said Maxie Lafleur.
The Société zoologique de Granby also welcomes two new Board members, Ms. Laury-Ann C. Paulin and Mr. Sébastien Nadeau. The Board of Directors of the Société zoologique de Granby is now composed of the following members: Maxie Lafleur, Chair; Jean‑François Dumas, First Vice-Chair; Carole Beaulieu, Second Vice-Chair; Sarah Coulombe; Michel Delorme; Philippe Gosselin; Simon Lapointe; Mélina Roy; Alain Vinet; Laury‑Ann C. Paulin, newly elected; and Sébastien Nadeau, newly elected.
