PRO TIPS for a Successful Day at the Zoo!
With summer vacation just around the corner, many are planning a dream day at Zoo de Granby to kick off the season with family fun! To help you make the MOST of your adventure with us, we’re sharing our favorite tips and tricks for a truly magical experience at the Zoo!
PLAN YOUR ARRIVAL!
Arrive early!
Not only will you get a parking spot closer to the admission gates, but you’ll also be able to take care of your tickets, stroller rental, and any questions you may have before the Zoo opens at 10 a.m.! Starting at 9 a.m., you can even access our pre-opening walkway, where you can sip on a great coffee, stock up on colorful slushies, or browse the Boutique for fun finds!
Avoid the crowds!
No surprise here, sunny days tend to be the busiest! Instead, aim for days with a chance of rain in the forecast (which are often surprisingly beautiful anyway! Take advantage of a quick shower to explore an indoor pavilion and enjoy the rest of your family day with far fewer people around!
Speed up your admission!
Daily tickets can be purchased onsite or online. Buying online lets you skip the line and enter more quickly! Not sure if you want a two-day pass? On the same day of your visit, you can upgrade your one-day ticket to a two-day pass (or even a membership!) by simply paying the difference, just show your receipt!
ONCE INSIDE, MAXIMIZE YOUR VISIT!
Quick info about the activity
Do the loop in reverse! Most visitors naturally head straight to the African trails when they enter the Zoo. Be original—start with one of our other continents for a more intimate experience! Wander through the Australian Outback with kangaroos, or head to Asia to meet the piercing gaze of tigers and snow leopards. Finish your day on the African trails, which are often almost empty by late afternoon—a perfect, peaceful way to wrap up your visit!
See the animals in action! Like us, many species need rest throughout the day. The best way to catch them being active? Follow the schedule for keeper talks and feeding times! These presentations are filled with fun facts and behind-the-scenes insights, giving you front-row seats to the excitement in each habitat. Don’t forget your camera! A QR code on your visitor guide gives you full access to the day’s programming.
Bring your own lunch! While there are plenty of food options throughout the animal park and Amazoo water park, picnic areas are available all over the site, so you can enjoy a relaxed, budget-friendly meal with the family. Treat yourself at the end of the day with a BeaverTail or a frosty dessert—you’re on vacation, after all, and you deserve it!
