Meet our Zookeepers
Meet the animal keepers
They train the elephants, nurse the orphans and work right beside the lions and tigers.
Animal keepers are passionate about their work. During daily live presentations, they share with visitors their interactions with the Zoo’s residents. What a hippo eats; how a snake catches its prey; the truth about elephants and their famous fear of mice.

The keepers are happy to answer all your questions in addition to sharing the secrets of their daily life with the Granby Zoo’s exotic animals.

Meet our Educators
Educators everywhere on the site!
Would you like to learn everything there is to know about the African elephant, touch a snake or stare into the piercing eyes of a bird of prey?
Our educators are posted all along the Zoo’s paths to provide you with a unique opportunity to meet their animal representatives and experience their touch tables overloaded with skulls, furs or other objects for you to handle. About a dozen passionate educators will share outstanding facts about the animal world with you and sustain your interest with surprising and captivating data on gorillas, sharks, tigers and other Granby Zoo stars.
We also hope to heighten your awareness on the importance of protecting this most fragile nature.
Your commitment can make all the difference!

The Discovery Hut
There is a multimedia universe waiting to be explored within the Discovery Hut. Nowhere else in Quebec are scientific discoveries made via the five senses. In summer, the Discovery Hut is the headquarters of Granby Zoo’s Educational Services.
The Discovery Hut, whose motto is Please Touch, is a ‘‘natural” playground for the whole family. Interactivity is at the heart of its concept. Colours, modules, décor, iconography, bio facts, educational material, living animals and educators inhabit this lively and fun space.

The area is divided into three zones where nature’s beauty and diversity confront the miseries of our planet’s ever increasing vulnerability. Thankfully, solutions are introduced and actions are undertaken to save our natural environment, its imperilled species and overexploited habitats.
Let us discover them together!
